Getting here

aka planes, trains & automobiles!

TRAINS:
If you're traveling from New York City (NYC), or surrounding areas, the Long Island Rail Road is your best option.  Bellport station is closest to the wedding venue (approx. 5 min. by car).  Patchogue is a good alternative, as it's second closest and trains stop there more often than Bellport.  Give us a call with your estimated arrival and we’ll have someone pick you up in Bellport/Patchogue. LIRR trains do not run overnight, so check the schedule if need to catch the train in the evening (i.e. you are staying in NYC etc.).

PLANES:
The closest airport is Long Island MacArthur Airport, a small airport in Islip, on Long Island.  It's a short drive from Brookhaven, but may be more expensive to fly into.  John F. Kennedy Airport  is the next closest, and it's an international airport.  Traveling to/from JFK airport and Brookhaven is easiest by train. Take the airtrain to the Jamaica station, and transfer onto an LIRR train to either the Bellport or Patchogue station.  Call when you get to Jamaica, so we can have someone pick you up in Bellport/Patchogue.

AUTOMOBILES:
There are several routes onto Long Island, if driving by car, including bridges and ferries.  Check GoogleMaps or MapQuest for your fastest route.  Avoid driving through New York City, if possible.

FERRIES:
If coming from the north, ferries are a great option!  They are costly ($50+), but cut down on driving time and are a nice way to relax after a long time on the road.  We typically take the Cross Sound Ferry from New London, Connecticut to Orient Point, on Long Island.  It costs $51 for car + driver, and additional $14 for each adult passenger.  There is also the Bridgeport to Port Jefferson ferry; $54 for car + driver, $16 for each adult passenger, or $74 for auto and unlimited passengers.

Any questions? Give us a shout!  We're excited to see you in June!

  1. Just wondering what time the festivities begin. People should look into booking a ferry to Long Island well in advance. Looking forward to a fun weekend. Leslea (Dalrymple) Schmitz
